Life has a tendency to get in the way at times.  Let’s face it; you really can’t expect your network marketing business to grow all by itself.  That’s why it’s essential to have a plan, to create a schedule if you want to succeed at selling your network marketing product and create a MLM income.  So, let’s talk about how to schedule time for you to grow your network marketing program.

What to Use to Schedule Your Time

When it comes to creating a schedule, you have quite a few options.  Here a just a few options that you can use to create your schedule for your day-to-day activities.

  • Microsoft Outlook-most computers have a program similar to Microsoft outlook.  If you are good at using your computer, you may want to consider using it to make up your schedule.  You can even have your computer give you reminders so that you don’t forget anything.  This was my personal favorite at one time.
  • Cell Phone Calendar-I use my cell phone a lot so it only makes sense to make sure that I keep important dates, appointments, and such in it.  I even set the alarm to go off before I’m scheduled to do something.  I can’t tell you how many times my cell phone alarm has gone off and kept me from missing an important appointment.
  • Plain Old Piece of Paper-you don’t have to spend a bunch of money on any fancy network marketing tools to make up a schedule.  Just a regular piece of paper with some lines drawn on it to represent the days of the week and the hours of the day will do a nice job.  Of course, I haven’t figured out how to make paper tap me on the shoulder to give me a reminder.
  • Day Planner-nothing says that you mean business like a day planner.  This is my personal favorite and it has worked well for me.  I can plan out my day so that I make sure that I schedule enough time to complete a task and if I don’t complete that task, I can reschedule it.  I prefer this method because I get a visual of what my week looks like at a glance.

That should be enough to give you an idea on what you can use to schedule your time with.  Really, there are some other options such as; a Word document, or a spreadsheet but you get the idea.

How to Schedule Your Time

How to schedule your time is more important that what you use to schedule your time with.  For some people this will be the toughest part of working their network marketing business.  There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day to devote the necessary time to working a MLM business and get all of the other things done too.

Let me give you a little secret to how to work your network marketing program part-time.  Sit down with whatever you are going to use for your schedule and the first thing I want you to write down are the things that can’t be moved or put off.  These are things that only you can do and they have to be done at a certain time.  For instance, if you have a job that you go to, put it in your schedule.  If you have a doctor’s appointment or you have to pick up the kids from school, put it in your schedule.

After you put in your schedule all of the things that YOU have to do and the TIME you have to do it, then it’s time to schedule all of the other things that you want to do.  Keep in mind how important it is to you to grow your network marketing business.  If it’s important that you succeed at your home based business, then schedule it appropriately.  If spending time with your friends and family is more important, then make that have priority in your scheduling. This is where having a strong “WHY” is important.

Benefits of Scheduling Your Day

Creating a schedule will help to keep you on track, focused, and it will increase your productivity.  The key is not to overdo it.  Make sure that you leave a little room for you to do some of the things that help you to relax.  For me that means meditation and reading.  I make sure that I schedule a few minutes everyday so that I can meditate.  In fact, I put that in my schedule before I put down when I am going to work on my network marketing leads.

If your schedule is already full, take a look at the things that you have listed.  Can any of those things be done by another member of the family?  Do they have to be done at all?  Do you have to clean the house or can you put it off so that you can work your network marketing business?

In order to succeed with your network marketing program it’s not only important to know what to do but it’s important to make the time to do it.  If you don’t make the time to work on growing your home based business, then it won’t grow.

Making a schedule is not only important to growing a home based business, it’s also important for a lot of other things too.  I have made a commitment to run a half marathon this December, it fact it is scheduled for the day after my birthday, and in order to insure that I cross the finish line, I have to train.  In order to train properly, I have to keep a training schedule. 

One last word on scheduling, DO YOUR BEST and FORGET THE REST.  If you don’t get something done for whatever reason, don’t beat yourself up about it.  Make a note on why you didn’t accomplish the task, if it’s something that you can plan for next time then do so.  IF NOT, LET IT GO!

What Is Your Commitment To Your Network Marketing Business

I would like to tell you that growing a successful network marketing business is easy and it really can be if you have the right tools and skills in place but no matter what, you still have to be committed to your home based business. 

 

I had a student who recently decided to quit prospecting.  Now here is a little background:  I have been working with her helping her to memorize her prospecting script.  I even gave her leads because I knew that she was strapped for cash.  We also talked about how she should set up her schedule so that she could have at least 2 hours to dial every day. 

 

Here’s what happened: on her first day of prospecting, she dial for about 1.5 hours and had one invite to a presentation.  Now for a first timer with this script and on the phone, I thought she did pretty good.  Not great but okay.  You see for the 1.5 hours she dialed, she only made like 20 phone calls.  So out of 20 phone calls, she got 1 invite.

 

On her second day – she dialed for 1 hour and made 40 phone calls with 0 invites.  She did better at dialing the phone but couldn’t manage it for more than 1 hour.

 

On her third day – she dialed for 40 minutes and made 20 phone calls with 0 invites.

 

On her forth day – we spoke and I told her that she wasn’t going to be able to talk to anyone if she didn’t pick up the phone and make the calls.  She said she knew but she got yelled at yesterday when she called someone during their dinner time.  “You know”  I said, “that’s going to happen from time to time and those people have the option of not picking up the phone during their dinner”  We talked a bit longer about how why she was in this and her numbers.  (I wrote a post a while back about Hitting Your Numbers that you may want to check out.)

 

On her fifth day – her husband asked her how much longer she was going to do this without making any money and she quit.

 

Let’s look at what she actually did to grow her business.  She memorized a script (sort of), she got on the phone for less than 5 hours and made fewer than 100 dials.  Does that sound like someone who is committed to growing their network marketing business? 

 

What is Commitment?

 

 According to Urban Dictionary, commitment is what transforms the promise into reality.

  •  It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions and the actions which speak louder than the words.
  • It is making the time when there is none. 
  • Coming through time after time after time, year after year after year. 
  • Commitment is the stuff character is made of; the power to change the face of things. 
  • It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism.

Let’s explore this a little further.  When I read this definition, I think that commitment is one’s persistent pledge to a certain action.  Think of it like a marriage.  When you marry, you vow to be with that person for the rest of your life no matter what. 

 

Is A Home Based Business Like A Marriage

 

Are you married to your home based business?  I guess the answer to that question is inside of you.  Why did you get involved with your network marketing program in the first place?  For me, I got into network marketing after I lost my job of over 10 years.  I never wanted to feel that sickening sensation again.  The only way I knew how to make sure that never happened again was to become my own boss.

 

Your first home based business may not be the one for you. 

 

I know that divorce happens and so is it true with multi-level marketing.  My first networking venture was with a company whose only product really couldn’t stand up by itself at least not for the kind of money they were looking to get for it.  So, I left that company but I didn’t join another MLM until I knew what to look for in a network marketing company.    (You can listen to a podcast of “Choosing A Network Marketing Business” if you aren’t sure what to look for in a MLM company.)  

 

One thing never wavered though and that was my commitment to owning my own home based business.  If you want to know why every successful network marketer tells you that you have to have a big reason “WHY” it’s because of this:  Without you having a serious commitment to your network marketing business, you will always find a reason not to work at growing your home based business.  You may say that you want to earn a certain amount of money working from home but your actions will say something else.

 

Are you a Committed Network Marketer?

 

Anyone in business should ask themself this question:  Are you willing to take the necessary action steps to make success happen?  If you don’t know how to do something, are you willing to learn how to do it?  If one marketing method isn’t successful, are you willing to try something else?  Are you willing to give up something in order to reach your goal?  Or, are you the type of network marketer that just dreams and wishes for success but doesn’t know how to get it and “hopes” it will find them someday.

You can keep wishing, hoping, and even praying for success but unless and until you are committed to taking the necessary action to reach your goal, you will never actually get there.  However, if you do whatever it takes for however long it takes, you will achieve your dreams.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Creating A Relationship To Increase MLM Sales

The last time I talked about forming a relationship with the prospects that you collect using online methods by using an autoresponder.  I realize that I didn’t go into enough detail about the why and the how to actually creating that relationship.  So today I would like to take care of my mistake.

The main reason you want to form a relationship with your prospect is so that they can get to know you.  The better your prospect knows you, the more they will trust you.  The more they trust you, the more they will buy from you.  Using the Internet to find your leads (prospects) is great but you have to understand that leads (prospects) are actual people.

Increase MLM Sales

If you want to increase your MLM sales, the best place to start is to form a human connection, a relationship with the potential customer.  Remember that there is at least one other person at the other end whatever piece of technology you decide to use.  The great thing about technology is that it allows us to develop relationships faster and in greater numbers.

How To Form A Relationship

In order to form a relationship, you first have to have an introduction.  When it comes to using the Internet, the introduction can be done in a number of ways.  Someone may click on one of your ads, read an article that you have written, come across your website, or connected with you via facebook, twitter, or some other form of social media.  The point is your prospect’s first look at you is the introduction.  You may want to keep that in mind when you setting things up on the Internet.

After the introduction the connection between prospect and network marketer starts to form.  This is where you may share some information about yourself, where you live, where you came from, who you are.  The prospect reads what you have to say and they decide if they like what they see.  Are you both on the same page so to speak. 

For example: the prospect in on the Internet looking for, let’s say, a wrinkle reducer and they come across your ad that says something to the effect that what you have will remove 10 years worth of wrinkles in just 15 minutes a day.  Wow, that’s a great ad and the prospect clicks on it (the Intro is done) now they read what you have to say.  They see that you have helped many people to look younger and blah, blah, blah.  But they like what they see, there is a connection.

Now is the time to start the relationship phase.  They decide to go ahead and make an order or more likely, get your free report, or sign up for your newsletter.  I say this because some people have to be exposed to something more than once before they make a buying decision.  Anyway, the power to forming a great relationship is in your hands.  If you provide your prospect with what they really want, they will keep coming to you for it.

Why Having An Autoresponder Can Increase MLM Sales

An autoresponder is a great marketing tool.  Once your prospect has said they want to become your subscriber, they are giving your permission to contact them via email.  With an autoresponder you can send follow-up emails at regular intervals.  If you have a prospect that has to be exposed to something more than once before they make a buying decision, an autoresponder is the easiest way to stay in contact with them.

Sending emails with good content that your prospect wants will help to build a relationship with them.  You build credibility, confidence and trust.  The more your prospect trusts you the more they will buy from your.  The best part about using an autoresponder is that it is all done automatically once you get it set up of course.

By using an autoresponder, (again, I recommend using AWeber) you don’t have to personally figure out who will buy from you and who won’t.  The content that you send out will do that for you.  If your prospect decides that you shouldn’t be in a relationship any longer, they just have to unsubscribe and that’s it.  You don’t have to do anything.

Autoresponders can help improve your success significantly.  Autoresponders will save you time, increase your effectiveness, keep you in touch with your subscribers, and ultimately increase your profits.
