I already spoke about having a good domain name in the Article “How A Name Can Increase MLM Sales” and now I would like to talk about how to build a list. Before we get into the mechanics of actually building a list, we should have a way to capture the prospects information and be able to follow up with them as well.
If you have been a network marketer for more than a week, then you should know that leads are your source of revenue. Without leads, you have no business. By far the best lead is the one that you generate yourself and if you are using the Internet as a way to reach more people to promote your MLM product or service, then you want to get yourself an autoresponder.
What Is An Autoresponder
An autoresponder is a system that can be used to send your leads (prospects) a series of emails at pre-defined intervals. Don’t worry they are not so technical that you should run away. There are some great autoresponder service companies available that want to make it easy for anyone to use. If you want to form a relationship with your prospects and help them to make a decision to buy your MLM product or service, then you want to be able to provide real value to your leads (potential customers).
One way to form a relationship with your prospects is to give them good content, advice or something that will make their lives a little better. You can do this by email. Provide your prospect with the opportunity to get something for free. It doesn’t have to be anything that costs you a lot of money to make. It can be a free report or a newsletter that gives great tips on the subject of your MLM product. I don’t mean your MLM product exactly, I mean the benefits of using your MLM product.
If you are going to be building a list of potential customers and sending them emails, then you definitely want to get yourself an autoresponder.
Which Autoresponder Is Right For You
The autoresponder that I use is called AWeber and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It will cost you about $20 a month or less if you prepay. The reason I love AWeber so much is because of their customer support. I was having a little technical problem with my autoresponder one day, so I sent them an email asking how to fix it, not thinking that I would hear back for a day or two, I went about my business. Someone from their customer support contacted me within 30 minutes and walked me through the problem I was having.
The best thing about using an autoresponder as a way to stay in touch with your prospects is that they are responsible for handling any SPAM complaints. That doesn’t mean that you can SPAM away, you still have to comply with the laws. But by using a big autoresponder like AWeber, you have an advantage because they have agreements with most of the email service providers that their emails will get delivered. This is because the other service providers know that email received from these autoresponder companies will, for the most part, not be spam, or at least not be unsolicited spam.
Even though I do recommend AWeber, you should do your own research and find the system that works best for you.
