Since half of the year has gone by, I thought it might be the right time to review our network marketing plans. Every business owner should have a marketing plan whether they own a traditional business or a work at home opportunity. A marketing plan details all of the necessary actions you must do in order to achieve your marketing goals. Basically, it’s your roadmap.
Example Marketing Plan
Let’s say that we are marketing a MLM product that has to do with Identity Theft. Our initial marketing plan may have the following elements:
-
Identify the Target Market – our target market is someone with good credit, has at least one credit card, and owns a home.
-
Where to get leads – to start out we may only buy leads from brokers using our target market criteria. How much to spend per lead.
-
How to contact our target market – to start out we may only want to use the telephone to contact our prospects.
-
Have scripts in place – you want to know what to say to your prospects so, let’s have a prospecting script, sales presentation, and closing script geared towards our target market and our product.
So our plan will have all of these elements in them and we have decided that this is a good plan to start our network marketing business with.
Review Your Marketing Plan Regularly
It’s great to have a roadmap but what do you do if there is a roadblock? It’s important to review your marketing plan regularly to see if you are on the right track. Is there something that could use improvement? Has the market changed? Are there new competitors? In order to know the answers to these questions, you have to be tracking your numbers.
How many leads did you call?
How many people did you invite to listen to your sales presentation using your prospecting script?
How many people called you back after listening to your sales presentation?
How many close attempts did you do?
How many people bought your MLM product?
Are you in profit?
Once you can answer these questions, you will know if you are on the right track or not. Be honest with yourself. If you only called 20 leads and no one went to a presentation, then you didn’t really put in that much effort to see if your marketing campaign is working or not. However, if you invited 50 people to a presentation and no one made a puchase, then you know that something is wrong.
Make Adjustments To The Marketing Plan
If you like your results using the telephone, then you can make changes to your marketing plan that will include getting leads using the Internet. Once you know who is buying your product, you can market online to attract those prospects to your landing pages. But if you aren’t happy with your results using the telephone (the cheaper tool) then it doesn’t make too much sense to use the Internet to get more of the prospects that you don’t like.
